Item 1 In the case below, the original source material is given along with a sample of student work. Determine the type of plagiarism by clicking the appropriate radio button. Original Source Material Student Version Use of mainstream games in schools remains rare, and is unlikely to be integrated into the curriculum. Reasons for this include: Kirriemuir and McFarlane (2004) reported that the use of mainstream games in K-12 education is and will probably remain rare for several reasons. Evaluating a game’s relevance to curriculum and accuracy of content is difficult and time-consuming. They further assert that a mainstream game which is applicable to curriculum standards will likely include irrelevant content. Finally, most teachers are not familiar with methods for using mainstream games in instruction. It is difficult for teachers to identify quickly how a particular game is relevant to some component of the statutory curriculum, as well as the accuracy and appropriateness of the content within the game. The difficulty in persuading other school stakeholders as to the potential/actual educational benefits of computer games. The lack of time available to teachers to familiarize themselves with the game, and methods of producing the best results from its use. The amount of irrelevant content or functionality in a game which could not be removed or ignored, thus wasting valuable lesson time. References: Kirriemuir, J., & McFarlane, A. (2004). BIZCAFE interpretive simulations Advertising Development Advertising is more than just deciding how much to spend, it involves developing a message that appeals to your target audience. A good advertisement contains the following elements: copy (the written portion of the ad), illustration (photos; graphics), and signature (company logo). For this assignment, you will be creating an ad that appeals to the market segment you are targeting in your business plan. In order for your ad to be effective, you should keep in mind the following items:
What image are you trying to project?
The advertising content or “copy” should reflect your other decisions.
Whether or not you choose to show an image of your product, consider that your ad is meant to create or feed the desire for your product. How you do that is up to you.
Remember, less is more, in almost all cases.
A full page ad size is 8.25 in. x 10.75 in.
You may use any graphics program to design the advertisement but the completed work must be in electronic format (suggested format is .jpg or .png). If you are entering the ad in the simulation, you will need to upload it to a public server or image hosting site (such as, Flickr, Shutterfly, Picasa, Photobucket, etc.), then copy the URL for the image. You can then paste the URL into the company ad input box in BizCafe.
