Think back to the five SMART goals you created earlier in the term. Write a reflection paper following APA format and consisting of 750-1000 words in length. Then, create a 5–7-minute reflection video using the word document which evaluates each SMART goal that you created. Use Teams, Zoom, or Canvas Studio's Screen Capture feature to record your presentation.  Your face must be visible on camera (in the corner as you present your paper). You must introduce yourself and show your identification. You must dress professionally or your presentation will not be graded.

Use the following questions to guide your response:

    1. What were you expecting from the experience before you started?

    2. Why were you expecting this?

    3. Why did you choose this goal?

    4. Did you learn anything about a different group in society (i.e., different age, profession, ethnic, racial or socio-economic group)? What did you learn?

    5. What is the most valuable experience you acquired?

    6. What impact did the experience have on your everyday life?

    7. What did you learn that was directly related to your course objectives?

    Smart Goals

    My Smart Goal

    2

Goal 1: Demonstrate proficiency in group therapy sessions

Goal 2: Integrate standardized assessment tools in diagnosing psychiatric disorders

Goal 3: Apply culturally competent mental health strategies

Goal 4: Engage in interprofessional collaboration for mental health care

Goal 5: Develop a professional growth and self-evaluation plan

    Goal 1: Specific and Measurable

    Specific

Conduct at least three group therapy sessions with real patients.

Use evidence-based psychotherapy techniques for effective mental health treatment.

    Measurable

Measurable through faculty and peer feedback after each session

Success evaluated using a structured assessment rubric for effectiveness.

By the end of the course, I will conduct at least three group therapy sessions using evidence-based psychotherapy techniques, as assessed by faculty and peer feedback.

Specific: This goal focuses on conducting group therapy sessions, which is a key component of psychiatric mental health practice. The goal clearly defines what I need to do (facilitate therapy sessions), who is involved (me, faculty, and peers), and why (to develop clinical proficiency in group psychotherapy techniques).

Measurable: My progress can be measured by completing at least three therapy sessions and receiving structured feedback from faculty and peers based on a standardized evaluation rubric.

    3

Goal 1: Achievable, Reliable and Timely

Achievable: This goal is attainable since the course provides theoretical instruction and practical opportunities to develop group therapy skills. I will have access to faculty guidance and learning resources to improve my techniques.

Relevant: This goal aligns with the course’s focus on group psychotherapy and its emphasis on evidence-based treatment for mental health disorders. This is a vital skill for me to acquire for future practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Timely: I will accomplish this purpose at 12-week training's end, providing me with ample time for practice and refinement of group therapy skills.

    4

    Achievable

Attainable with faculty guidance and structured clinical training opportunities.

Supported by access to course materials and real-world clinical practice.

    Reliable

Reliable because evidence-based therapy techniques improve patient outcomes.

Aligns with standard mental health practice and clinical competency requirements.

Within the next six weeks, I will utilize at least two standardized diagnostic tools for assessing and triaging patients with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders.

Specific: The goal says that I will utilize at least two standardized instruments for evaluating and diagnosing psychiatric disorders. These instruments may be PHQ-9 (for depression), GAD-7 (for anxiety), or DSM-5 criteria.
Measurable: I will measure progress through recording assessment tools used on clinical case studies and comparing diagnostic findings with faculty and peer feedback.

    5

Goal 2: Achievable, Reliable and Timely

Achievable: The reason that this is a realistic goal is that I will have evidence-based materials, case studies, and faculty members available for guidance throughout the learning process.
Relevant: The ability to apply standardized assessment tools is essential for diagnosing psychiatric disorders and is congruent with the course objective of integrating assessment information into mental health treatment (Demyttenaere & Heirman, 2024).
Timely: The deadline for accomplishing this goal is clear at six weeks, giving sufficient time for learning, implementing, and evaluating my use of these tools.

    6

    Achievable

Attainable with access to diagnostic tools and clinical supervision.

Reinforced through case study analysis and hands-on clinical practice.

Assessed through faculty feedback and case study performance.

In week four, I will implement culturally sensitive mental health practices on at least two case studies for effective as well as inclusive treatment strategies.

Specific: The specific purpose here is implementing culturally sensitive care into mental health care, giving diverse patient populations effective and appropriate care.

Measurable: I will have two completed case studies that demonstrate culturally sensitive practices for psychiatric care. I will assess whether my strategies are consistent with best practices for cultural competence.

    7

Goal 3: Achievable, Reliable and Timely

Attainable: This is a feasible objective because I will have access to course materials, case studies, and instructors' guidance for formulating culturally sensitive treatment strategies.

Relevant: Culturally sensitive care is a core aspect of psychiatric nursing and enhances the course aim of delivering mental health care for multicultural communities (Chu et al., 2022).

Goal 4: Achievable, Reliable and Timely

    Achievable

Attainable through scheduled interprofessional discussions and case reviews.

Supported by course structure and team-based learning activities.

    Reliable

Reliable because teamwork enhances patient-centered psychiatric care.

Reflects best practices in integrated healthcare delivery models.

    Timely

Accomplishable in 12 weeks through consistent collaboration

Achievable: This goal is realistic because the course includes opportunities for collaboration through case discussions, role-playing exercises, and group projects.

Relevant: Team-based mental health care improves patient outcomes and aligns with the course objective of developing interprofessional collaboration skills (Geese & Schmitt, 2023).

Timely: This goal will be completed by the end of the 12-week course, ensuring consistent engagement in collaborative activities.

    10

    Goal 5: Specific and Measurable

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

A case brief is a dissection of a legal opinion, summary of the basic

components of that decision. “Briefing” a case (opinion) helps the student understand the rule

oflaw as interpreted by that particular court.

    INSTRUCTIONS

Each student will carefully read a legal opinion (Hiett v. Lake Barcroft Community

Association). Upon reading said case, each student will complete a case brief following the

    instructions outlined below.

After reading and analyzing the case, address the following issues:

    1. Do you believe that certain topics should be ‘off limits’ when it comes to the subject

matter of contracts? For example, should the Courts uphold contracts dealing with

illegal issues (e.g. drugs, prostitution, etc.)?

    2. Should triathlon participants be expected to honor their promise with respect to

exculpatory clauses in contracts? In other words, does one’s promise ‘not to sue’

matter, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling?

    3. Did you agree or disagree with the Court’s rationale in deciding the case?

    4. Which authority should have jurisdiction (power/authority) over the issue of

contracts and enforcement among private parties? Civil government, Church,

    Family, Self?

    5. Reflect on the case in light of the truths outlined in the Christian worldview.

Support your position using various Christian sources (e.g. Scripture, Catechisms,

    historic Christian Creeds, etc.).

must be completed based on the following criteria:

    • 3 full pages;

    • 2 scholarly citations;

    • 1-inch margins;

    • Double-spaced;

    • 12-point, Times New Roman font;

Put a title on the top line of the first page, and include your name. No other identifying

information is needed. Do not include a separate cover page. Citations must be in APA format

and included on a separate reference page.

    **Module 4 – Case**

**Virtual Teams and Protecting Information Assets**

    **Assignment Overview**

The Case Assignment for this module involves your analysis of what is known, somewhat known, not known, or "known but wrong" in the area of the management of virtual teams. Since this phenomenon has become the norm, more knowledge on managing these teams is needed. Most of the advice about virtual teams comes from one or more of four types of sources:

    · The small number of academically respectable research studies on virtual teams

    · The very large body of research done on the management of teams generally (dating back to the 1930s and of somewhat questionable generalizability  due to differences in tools, culture, society, and just about everything else)

    · The modest but steadily increasing body of informal or "practice wisdom" information, generally made available through blogs or other Internet sources

    · The quite large body of essentially uninformed but ready-to-be-shared opinion about the topic, also Internet-available

The first two bodies of information are generally easy to identify and distinguish; they'll be found in academic journals, conference transactions, and other such sources. Unfortunately, distinguishing between the latter two types of information is much more complicated, since they may look a great deal like each other, depending on the technical abilities of the respective website designers.

In addition, the optional readings expand on many of the central points; you may also want to do some independent research of your own to clarify any issues that concern you.

    Your task is to
**identify 3 to 5 significant questions regarding the management of virtual teams that relate to "practice wisdom**" advice found in the readings, that you believe are sufficiently important that good quality research might help resolve their validity. Trivial questions don't really warrant research, because the research costs money and other resources that are in scarce supply. We want to reserve our research resources to address those questions that really seem important to practice—particularly issues where the practice wisdom might be divided, with one group saying one set of things and one group another, or where there is no advice available at all. So what you're looking for in the blogs are situations where advice seems to contradict other advice, or where advice given seems to contradict your own intuition or common sense, or otherwise where ambiguity seems to exist. The two systematic research studies will give you an idea of how such research might be done.

When you identify some topic of interest, you should be able to specify:

The research question itself; what are we trying to find out?

Why is this question interesting? Who might care what the results would be?

Where might we do such a study? How might we carry it out? (Please note: You're not being assessed here on the quality of your research expertise; just give us some general ideas about how you think we might answer your question.)

What would you expect the results to be?

Any other thoughts or ideas you might have regarding this research issue.

So your paper is to consist of your thoughts on these questions regarding each of the 3 to 5 issues that you have been able to identify from your perusal of the readings of virtual teams.

    **Case Assignment**

Thus, when you have read through the articles and related material, compose a 4- to 6-page critical analysis paper as outlined above, on the topic:

    · Three to five significant ideas about the management of virtual teams that could be usefully assessed by conducting systematic organizational research

As we said, your research recommendations need to be supported by the literature and the evidence. Obviously, as noted below, this will obligate you to actually be able to present such evidence in an academically respectable manner.

**You Will Be Particularly Assessed On**

    · Your ability to see what the module is all about and to structure your paper accordingly.

    · Your informed commentary and analysis—simply repeating what your sources say does not constitute an adequate paper.

    · Your ability to apply the professional language and terminology of management and virtual teams correctly and in context; you are expected to be familiar with this language and use it appropriately.

    · Your effective and appropriate use of in-text citations to the assigned readings and other source material to support your arguments. Refer to Trident's “Writing Style Guide” for guidance on APA formatting and style. The guide can be accessed under "My Resources" in the TLC Portal.

    Task Summary

In this assessment you will use the Journal tool in Blackboard to write a personal reflection on your

personal and professional development within 4 separate modules across the subject. You will

reflect on the course materials in relation to assessing your leadership style and best practices to be

used in the practical application to your educational context.

Please refer to the Task Instructions for details on how to complete this task.

    Context

The concern with reflective thinking is that one may use the process as a tool to reaffirm your

position rather than engaging critically and examining new perspectives that could lead to

developments in practice. In this assessment you are asked to honestly and critically reflect on your

experiences and/or future leadership endeavours. The purpose of this task is to enable you to

engage in a self-reflection process that helps you to identify your personal and professional

strengths, challenges, concerns and aspirations as a future educational leader. You are required to

draw upon the course content and engage in wide reading to challenge your preconceived ideas of

educational leadership within your chosen context.

    Page 2 of 5 EDUC6000_Assessment 3_20240603

    Task Instructions

You will be required to write four entries in your Reflective Journal (approximately 400 words per

entry) which will be submitted at the end of Week 12. The modules you will write the four entries

    on will be:

    • Module 1: The role of the Educational Leader

    • Module 3 : Developing an Effective Leader

    • Module 4: Leading People

    • Module 6: Reflection as a means of Professional Development

In the second week of each of these modules you will be required to reflect on what you have learnt

about yourself and becoming a high achieving professional leader. You will critically analyse the skills

and characteristics that are explored in each module, which relate to effective leadership within the

educational context of your choice. You will draw on personal experiences to reflect on your own

capabilities whilst also looking to the future and what you hope to achieve within your context. As

you reflect on your professional goals you will draw upon the course material and your own research

to support your professional development as a leader. Therefore, you will need to cite theory and

literature accurately and include a reference list using APA 7th edition formatting.

Please refer to each of the 4 modules mentioned above for writing prompts to guide your reflection.

You are encouraged to be open in your reflection about your development, understanding and

challenges as you encounter these in the course material.

You will be assessed on your ability to critically reflect on:

    • Your learning of the course material

    • Challenges you may have experienced towards your leadership style

    • Any changes to your current practice as a result of your learning

    • Your thoughts towards practical application

You will also be assessed on your ability to:

    • Write concisely in a reflective academic style

    • Cite and reference sources using APA 7th Edition style.

Please see the assessment rubrics for the marking criteria.

    Referencing

It is essential that you use appropriate APA style for citing and referencing research. Please see more

    information on referencing here http://library.laureate.net.au/research_skills/referencing
