    Assessment Description

Response to Intervention (RTI) is a component of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. MTSS is a broader framework that includes RTI and other components, such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). RTI is a collaborative system in which the needs of learners are identified, supported, and monitored. The components of the RTI process start with all students receiving high-quality, research-based classroom instruction. Ongoing assessment of student learning and collaboration with an RTI team are important components of a successful RTI model. Researched-based interventions can be implemented by the classroom teacher as well as qualified instructional staff. Classroom teachers play a vital role across all tiers of the RTI process and understanding the elements of a school’s RTI model is key to student growth and success. Additionally, communication and family involvement where student progress is shared regularly is essential.

    **Part 1: RTI Infographic**

Using the topic Resources and your own research, create a one-page digital infographic that could be shared with new teachers explaining the structure of the RTI model. Briefly describe each tier by including the following information in your infographic:

    · Recommended length and frequency of instruction at each tier, including recommended group size for Tier 2 and Tier 3.

    · List those responsible for delivering instruction at each tier.

    · At least one program, method, or strategy that supports instruction at each tier.

    · Discuss appropriate assessments for each tier and assessment administration frequency.

    · Provide at least one strategy for communicating with families and providing updates on student progress in each tier.

    · Explain how the RTI process supports learning in all content areas.

    **Part 2: Reflection**

Write a 500-750 word reflection justifying the information in the RTI infographic and discuss the roles of the RTI team and teacher in the RTI process. Include the following in your reflection:

    · Explain how the recommended length, frequency, and group size of each tier help support students.

    · Explain how the program, method, or strategy for each tier supports learning and meets diverse student needs.

    · Justify why each assessment in the infographic is appropriate for the specified tier.

    · Describe the RTI team, including the members of the team and their roles in the RTI process.

    · Discuss data's role throughout the RTI process and how that is communicated to other team members.

    · Discuss the importance of family communication and involvement in the RTI process.

    · Describe how you will use this information in your future professional practice.

Support your assignment with 2-3 scholarly resources.

The infographic should include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately.

Submit two separate files: (part 1) the infographic as a PDF file and (part 2) the reflection with resources as a Microsoft Word file.

    Assessment Traits

    Requires Lopeswrite

While APA Style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected. Source documentation should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

This assignment uses a rubric. Before beginning, review the rubric to familiarize yourself with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. For assistance, a link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is in Class Resources.

**Directions:** Complete the financial report worksheet to help you with your calculations to create the APA report.

    1. Go to your financial institution’s website or a local financial institution’s website and find the interest rate and compounding frequency (monthly, quarterly, annually, and so on) for a savings account. Record that here:

    2. Use the compound interest formula: where
    _r_ is the interest rate
    **as a decimal**,
_n_ is the number of times it is compounded in the time frame,
_t_ is the amount of time, and
_P_ is the starting value. Calculate your balance if you invest $1,000 for 1 year.

    3. Using the compound interest formula, calculate your balance if you invest $1,000 for 5 years.

    4. Now select a new compounding period (monthly, quarterly, annually, and so on) and redo your calculations from number 2 & 3, using the same interest rate.

    5. Now select a new interest rate from another financial institution that is different than your starting one. Redo your calculations from numbers 2 & 3 with the new rate but keeping the same compounding frequency that you used in 2 & 3.

    6. What did you learn about comparing the compounding frequency that interest is compounded?

    7. What did you learn about comparing the interest rate?

    8. Is it better to have a slightly higher rate or have interest compounded more often?

    Financial Report Worksheet

Now that you are in the final course in your program, it is time to turn in earnest to

preparing for certification and licensure. You will need to take and pass the national

PMHNP certification exam. Once certified, you will then be eligible to apply for licensure

as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in the state desired. It will be up to

you to ensure you are knowledgeable about the practice agreements, scope of practice,

and prescriptive authority in your state.

Although a movement called the APRN Consensus Model is attempting to standardize

NP regulations nationally, it is still the case that requirements vary state to state. In

some states, NPs may establish an independent practice without the supervision of an

MD. Additionally, states are currently categorized as either allowing full practice,

reduced practice, or restricted practice. Full practice states allow NPs to evaluate, order

diagnostics, diagnose, and treat patients. They are licensed under the exclusive

authority of the state board of nursing for the appropriate state. Many states may require

prescriptive authority protocols in addition to collaborative agreement.

Another important area to consider and plan for is prescriptive authority. The

appropriate board, which may be the medical board, state board of pharmacy, or

nursing board, grants prescriptive authority under state law for the appropriate state

licensure. The federal government grants the authority to write for a controlled

substance, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) verifies this action through

by the appropriate state board. Drug Enforcement Agency registration is granted at the

federal level and has additional requirements/fees for the registration process. In this

Discussion, you will locate and review the practice agreements in the state in which you

plan to practice, identify potential collaboration requirements in your state, and

understand the certification and licensing process that you will need to follow.

Review practice agreements in your state (Florida)

    • Identify whether your state requires physician collaboration or supervision for

nurse practitioners, and if so, what those requirements are.

    Research the following:

    • How do you get certified and licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered

    Nurse (APRN) in your state?

    • What is the application process for certification in your state?

    • What is your state’s board of nursing website?

    • How does your state define the scope of practice of a nurse practitioner?

    • What is included in your state practice agreement?

    • How do you get a DEA license?

    • Does your state have a prescription monitoring program (PMP)?

    • How does your state describe a nurse practitioner’s controlled-substance

prescriptive authority, and what nurse practitioner drug schedules are nurse

    practitioners authorized to prescribe?

Post a summary of your findings on your state based on the questions listed above.

Explain the types of regulations that exist and the barriers that may impact nurse

practitioner independent practice in your state. Be specific. Also, describe what

    surprised you from your research.

Upload a copy of your discussion writing to the draft Turnitin for plagiarism check. Your

faculty holds the academic freedom to not accept your work and grade at a zero if your

    #### **Families + Schools + Disabilities**

As you have learned thus far, family structure, parenting style, and cultural background impact children and their education. In this discussion, we are going to add another factor: disabilities. The creation of positive relationships with families is always essential, but it is even more crucial when working with the families of children with disabilities.

    To prepare for this discussion,

    – Please refer to the Week 3 Guidance for further tips and examples that will support your success with this discussion.
    – Locate the module [Collaborating With Families Links to an external site.](https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/module/fam/#content) in the IRIS Center website. Select the “1: Challenge” balloon to begin the module.

In your initial post, choose one of the scenarios below. Address the scenario in your initial response with support from a scholarly source. Include your scenario in the subject line of your initial post.

    **Scenario A**

Describe the range of emotions associated with being the parent of a child with special needs. Select two emotional states and describe how you, as a teacher, would work with a parent experiencing these emotions.

    **Scenario B**

Identify and describe three roles that a parent of a child who has a disability might fulfill that are unlike the roles typically associated with parenting.

    **Scenario C**

Reese is a young girl with cerebral palsy. Her primary means of mobility is a manual wheelchair, though she is also able to take a few independent steps. Reese’s parents have recently separated and are in the process of divorcing. Reese, her mom, and two older siblings have temporarily relocated and are now living in the upstairs of her grandparents’ house. As a result of the move, Reese has transitioned to a new school. Although her mom is generally very involved with her child’s education, there are currently many stressors in her life. Describe at least two of the stressors, besides divorce, that Reese’s mom might be experiencing and explain how you think they might affect her time and involvement with the school.

    **Scenario D**

Imagine you are a teacher in Reese’s new school. Describe three ideas you have for building a relationship with Reese’s family and how you would go about making the family feel welcome in your school.

    **Scenario E**

Imagine that you, as Reese’s new teacher, have just returned from a visit to Reese’s grandparents. During your home visit, Reese’s mother vented about her failed relationship with her husband and the reasons for their divorce. Now the teachers in the teachers’ lounge are pushing you for the juicy details. What is your responsibility in this situation and why?
